Please consider volunteering for one or more of the following needs below. No experience is needed. All you need is a willingness to share your time and your faith. Parish Life Events
As part of our Generations of Faith programming, we offer several parish-wide events (social, service and spiritual) throughout the year. Volunteer team members are needed to ensure the success of these events. There are many ways to help from planning and preparation, to set-up and clean-up, to assistance with decor, to helping with providing a welcoming atmosphere.
Office
Help the Generations of Faith Team with a variety of tasks and projects including mailings, filing, copying, material preparation and other office duties as needed.
Childcare
As a benefit to our volunteer catechists and assistants, we provide childcare for their younger children during Faith Formation classes and for meetings and events during the year. Childcare volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and may bring their own children.
Retreats
Volunteers are needed to assist with retreats provided for all ages.
Service Projects
Volunteers are needed for the planning and implementation of local service opportunities for our youth.
Driver/Chaperone
Adults over the age of 25 provide transportation and supervision for our youth events.
Technology
Volunteers assist with various technology needs.
Adult Faith
Bible Study Leader
Volunteers are needed to facilitate weekly online or in-person bible studies.
Book Study Leader
Our parish book club is looking for new leaders. These groups meet four times a year. Leaders help choose the book, assist in advertising, and facilitate discussion.
Small Group Ministry Leader
Volunteers are needed as leaders in the formation of these specific groups: DivorceCare, Caregiver Support, Infertility & Adoption Support, Creating Healthy Families (providing resources and information nights on mental health and other current issues for parents), and Small Faith Communities (creating opportunities for small group social and spiritual activities for individuals, couples, or families).
Young Adult Ministry Leader
Volunteers ages 18-35 lead groups of other young adults in small group gatherings, bible studies, discussions about current events and other activities that suit the needs of the group. These gatherings occur twice monthly.
Youth & Family Faith (Preschool-8th grades)
Catechist (teacher) or Co-Catechist (co-teacher)
Adult volunteers are needed to share the faith with the young people of our parish (Preschool through 8th grades). Teach your own class, teach with a friend or be paired with another volunteer! Training and support are provided. Classes meet 1-2 times per month September through May.
Classroom Assistant
Not ready to take the lead, but still want to serve? We need adult and high school volunteers to serve as classroom assistants to support the catechist during class time. Assistants attend classes, but are not expected to prepare the lesson for the class. Classes meet 1-2 times per month September through May.
Table Group Leader
Adult volunteers are needed to assist the Generations of Faith Team with parent sessions held during class time (September, December & March).
Youth Ministry (3rd-12th grades)
Launch (3rd - 5th grades) & Lift (6th - 8th grades)
Passionate about your faith? Want to share your faith with the youth of our parish but not in a classroom setting? Help is needed for our monthly Launch & Lift Youth Ministry events for youth in 3rd- 8th grades. Work with a team of adults and high school teens to plan and lead these monthly social gatherings with the support of the Generations of Faith Team. Launch & Lift will meet one Friday each month.
Life Teen (9th - 12th grades)
Small Faith Group Leader
Working in pairs, adult volunteers are needed to lead small groups of teens on a monthly basis. These meetings can take place in your own home or here at SS. Peter & Paul. Leaders choose the topics discussed to best serve the needs of the youth in their group.
Life Night Core Team
Adult volunteers are needed to help facilitate our Sunday evening Life Night Gatherings on a rotating schedule.
Fundraising Team
In preparation for the annual Mission Trip and other local service efforts, funds are needed. Adults are needed to plan and implement mission trip fundraisers.
Sacrament Preparation
Baptism Team Member
Volunteers are needed to facilitate our baptism process for parents and godparents. Requires availability on Sundays.
Sacrament Preparation Catechist (Teacher or Co-Teacher) for 2nd & 8th Grades
Adult and high school volunteers are needed to teach or assist with the preparation for First Reconciliation & First Communion (2nd grade) and Confirmation (8th grade).
RCIA Team and Sponsors
The RCIA process welcomes new members into the Roman Catholic Church. Adult volunteers are needed to journey with potential candidates through the process of becoming Catholic. Some team members will aid in facilitating the weekly sessions and some will sponsor the candidate.
