Renee believes spiritual companioning is the call to hold safe, sacred space with another person. In this place where two are gathered, Christ is present as we ponder God’s work in us and listen for the Spirit that nudges each of us in unique ways. Spiritual companioning, also called Spiritual Direction, involves deep, unconditional listening and accompaniment through life’s transitions, challenges, joys and sorrows as we journey into deeper relationship with God and deeper understanding of ourselves.
Renee is a practicing Catholic and a graduate of the Shalem Institute for Applied Spiritual Guidance, a two-year certification program in Washington D.C., as well as the Haden Institute for Spiritual Direction and Dream Work in North Carolina. She is also a retired educational leader, with a doctorate in organizational leadership.
Renee provides both individual and small group spiritual direction and dream work. She has worked with individuals of all ages, people discerning life changes—particularly when old maps no longer work, and people navigating cross-cultural experiences. Renee is passionate about Catholic social teaching, equity, and the dignity of every human being made in the image of God.
Renee is currently on the advisory board for the Interfaith Peace Project, OMNIA Center for Contextual Leadership, the Latino Leadership Council, and serves as staff for the Mercy Center Spiritual Direction Program.
Renee typically meets with groups and individuals on Zoom, but is available for occasional in person meetings at Mercy Center, Auburn or at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
