They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. All who believed were together and had all things in common. ( Acts 2:42, 44)
Eucharistic Ministers are lay men and women who are commissioned to distribute the Precious Body and Blood of Christ during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Ministers of Holy Communion, ordained and extraordinary, look into the eyes of each communicant and see the face of Christ within. Catholics come to the ministers with outstretched hands, ready to accept the Precious Body and Blood of Christ for nourishment to strengthen us for the mission of the church: to go out to the entire world and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. What a wonderful gift Catholics have in the Precious Body and Blood of Christ!
